30 Day Raw Challenge

Starting tomorrow, August 1st, I will nourish my body with raw food only. For 30 days (or more).

Who am I?
I'm vegan since about April 2009. I love to eat and try out new recipes. After months of delicous cakes, cookies, pasta and other I-want-to-try-out-new-stuff feasts I (of course) didn't lose weight. But that's what I want now.
I have BMI of 25,6, my body fat is about 33 %. I have never been a big sports person. I don't enjoy being chubby anymore and want to be slender and strong. I'm about 5 feet tall, so being a tiny and energetic person fits me more than looking like a little ball.

Why raw?
Since counting calories, eating less or eating less fat didn't work and I read so many inspiring blogs about raw food I want to try out myself. When I decided to diet in a certain way I stopped eating that way at the next party or when I was bored. I want this blog to get more control about what I eat, because often enough I lose track about my goals. I want my body to be healthy and stop accomodating my cravings for bad food. If I start eating starches, I often couldn't stop. If I eat only veggies and fruit, I feel great and don't have any urges to eat tons of calories within half an hour.

So what are the rules for the coming 30 days?
1. Everyday raw, whole, vegan and (if possible) organic and local food.
2. Sprout your legumes! (I started sprouting some lentils today).
3. Write down everything you eat and post it here!
4. Eat (healthy) fats in moderation (I'm inspired by the Happy Herbivores (and others)... I love your blog, Lindsay!)
5. Exercise at least once a week, try to go to the gym 3 times a week.
6. Don't eat after 8 pm.
7. Drink about 2-3 litres each day.

So I hope you stay tuned on my journey to a healthy body, made out of veggies and fruit. Tomorrow there will be photos, I promise!
